Fall is in the air! The weather is changing, the first six weeks of school are behind us and your students are settling into a routine. The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and the School Services staff are passionate about learning and supporting you. Here are some ways we can bring extraordinary learning experiences to your students.

Discovery Labs on Wheels

Looking for a great way to engage your students and cover the TEKS at the same time? Invite the Discovery Labs on Wheels team to your classroom and watch as your students explore, investigate and communicate new understandings of science concepts. Sign up now, you won’t want to miss out on the fun! 

Grades: 1-7 (maximum 30 students per program)
Fee: $125 for a one-hour program 
Minimum: 3 programs per day; Maximum: 5 programs per day
Travel fee: $25 per school

Omni Theater Field Trips

Have you heard? The Omni Theater, an IMAX dome, is reopened, better and brighter than ever and available for field trips now. And look what’s coming back! The Polar Express: The IMAX Experience returns exclusively  to the Omni Theater November 21. This amazing adventure of a classic story is a must-see for one and all! The Polar Express will be available for school field trips at 11 a.m. Monday through Friday other times are available in the afternoon and weekends. Other IMAX films available for field trips include:

  • Dinosaurs Alive: Now through November 20, 2008 and Jan. 5 - Feb. 26, 2009; Recommended Grade Level: 2 - Adult
  • Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs: Now through May 22, 2009;
    Recommended Grade Level: 4 - Adult
  • Deep Sea: Now through May 22, 2009;
    Recommended Grade level: K - Adult
  • Grand Canyon: River at Risk: March 2 - May 22, 2009;
    Recommended Grade Level: 3 - Adult 

All films are available at 10 a.m., 11:05 a.m. and 12:10 p.m.

Combined Exhibit Field Trips Return November 8!

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History’s exhibits are currently on hiatus to make room for the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame’s Heart of the West Exhibition and Sale. Our exhibits will return to our temporary home at the National Cowgirl Museum on November 8 and will feature Top Secret: Mission Toy, KIDSPACE and the Hands on Studio. The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and our staff look forward to seeing you in November! Until then, the Cowgirl Experience at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is still available for field trips.
