Before you go upstairs, begin your Cowgirl experience with the Spirit of the Cowgirl Theater to the left of the Rotunda. This 8-minute presentation introduces audiences to the many faces of the cowgirl and the concept and vision behind the National Cowgirl Museum.
Into the Arena Through May 22, 2009 Into the Arena introduces you to champion cowgirls of the arena. View an array of fashion as clothes rotate in conjunction with a touch screen. Watch Great Rides on three giant screens, then become a champion rider yourself on the interactive bronc-riding experience.Your ride will be captured on a video that you can download later onto your home computer. Don’t forget to observe the memorabilia and artifacts of historic moments in Wild West shows and rodeos.
Kinship with the Land Through May 22, 2009 The theater in Kinship with the Land provides a place to rest your spurs as you watch a short movie that captures a day at the ranch from sunup to sundown. After the movie, take some time to learn how to saddle your own horse and dress up as a cowgirl or cowboy.
Claiming the Spotlight Through May 22, 2009 The final stop upstairs, Claiming the Spotlight, introduces you to the Hollywood starlets and musicians who introduced cowgirls to the world. Make your own cowgirl poster, listen to some show tunes, and enjoy the 8-minute film Reel Cowgirls about cowgirls in the movies and the lovable character from Toy Story 2, Jessie the Cowgirl.
Add a Scavenger Hunt to Your Cowgirl Experience Request a Scavenger Hunt Kit for added content to your visit. Each scavenger hunt is grade-level appropriate, aligned with the TEKS, and contains supplies for one chaperone and 10 students. Kits available include:

Weather Wonders Grades: 1-6;

Fee: included with admission While on your Wednesday field trip, your students can learn about Weather Wonders from NBC5 meteorologists and Museum staff. During this interactive program, your students will get their hands on some incredible weather phenomenon, ask their toughest weather questions, and view some wild Texas weather.
