Reception and Telephone Host
Job Summary:
This position provides reception and telephone support to the Museum and sets the tenor for an extraordinary guest experience through telephone and personal contact. This position reports to the Vice President for Guest Services. Work days are Monday-Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 to 5:00. This is a part-time, hourly position.
Basic Function and Responsibilities:
- Promote and model the highest level of guest relations, communication and service with both external guests and internal staff.
- Priority responsibility is answering all incoming switchboard calls in a supportive and responsive manner.
- Greet scheduled museum guests and contact the appropriate person or department.
- Facilitate day-to-day mail distribution, send packages, priority mail and fax operations including distribution.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience in delivering guest service
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Experience with a multi-line telephone system
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, simultaneously
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to sit for long periods of time and lift 25 pounds
- Willingness to be flexible as priorities change throughout day
